SSEG Registration

What is an SSEG?

SSEG stands for Small-scale embedded generation, which are basically mini-power plants that generate power in residential and / or commercial buildings through multiple technologies such as photovoltaic (PV) systems.

Why is it important to register the SSEG?

According to regulation, and the governmental municipal requirements all photovoltaic (PV) systems are required to be formally registered by the applicable local municipality. It is considered tampering if not correctly registered and will incur hefty fines and or decommissioning.

This registration and processing enables the municipality the ability to ensure the quality of the system and / or installation to avoid instances of potential life threatening electrocutions whilst technicians work on the network.
